I decided to make a wallpaper a few weeks back. Australia had a 2 week holiday coming up, My brother was coming down from Sydney for those 2 weeks, And he likes military planes.
As a kinda present, and because I hadn't made anything "deviantart worthy" in a while, I decided to make a vector image of my favourite plane.

Anyway, I read a few tutorials, I wish I could remember them because 3 of them were from dA.
Anyway, a few things in this were my first time:
Gradient meshes
Hand traced vectorizing.
Colour selection, using eyedropper, from the original image.

So this was a, half test, half serious attempt at something for my brother.
And if you're wondering, he didn't want it. He doesn't want stylized images of planes, he wants real photos, Where no small details are ignored by an artist.

Anyway, Everything made in Illustrator CS3, all hand made, A few days work, but interrupted often by my assessment and my niece, who liked sitting on my lap listening to loud music, then falling asleep... To LOUD music... Crazy niece.
